Your privacy
Updated 17th of October 2026. This notice covers The Wright Web Call and The Wright Call standalone app during Peter Wright’s free, invitation-only trial with friends. It is not a commercial launch or a statement that the software has been independently certified.
Who to contact
Peter Wright organises this trial. For privacy questions, access to your details, correction or deletion, email accounts@thewrightsupport.com. Peter may need to check that a request is genuinely yours before sharing or deleting information. Peter, Ginge and Linda have administrator access to hosted trial records.
What is used and why
Your name or nickname and email help the admins recognise you, send invitations and control admission. The service also keeps meeting times, invitation delivery and response records, requests for another time, repeated admission/rejection records and support messages. Connection providers handle network information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service. We do not ask for payment details.
The purpose is to operate the requested trial calls and invitations, help participants and prevent unwanted entry. Where UK GDPR applies, the intended lawful basis for this limited administration and security processing is legitimate interests. This requires a continuing assessment of necessity and impact; participation is optional. Do not use the trial for sensitive medical, financial, legal or other confidential material.
Calls, sharing and local features
Only admitted participants can hear and see the meeting. Camera, microphone and screen capture use your device permissions. Preview your screen before publishing it. Video/audio is encrypted in transit; it is not represented as independently verified end-to-end encryption through every media configuration.
Shared file contents use device-to-device encryption. Recipients choose whether to accept a file. Compare the file verification codes through another trusted channel before sending. The signalling service handles file names, sizes and transfer details; encrypted file chunks can use the signalling relay if direct transfer is unavailable.
Background effects run on your device. Imported contacts and automatic notes are processed locally by the supplied features. Recordings, notes, downloaded files and exports are saved or held on the participant’s device, not stored as call content in the meeting database. Ask everyone before recording or enabling transcription. A recording notification or readiness acknowledgement is not a substitute for agreement. Other participants can retain their own copies and the app cannot control external recording software.
Service providers and calendars
Google Cloud hosts the meeting service and metadata. Cloudflare supplies connection and media infrastructure; Resend delivers invitations and support notifications. Relevant information is disclosed to those providers to perform those tasks, and to invited participants as part of a call or invitation. UK hosting for part of the service does not mean all supplier processing is confined to the UK. Supplier contracts, international-transfer safeguards and their separate retention arrangements require review before wider release.
Accepting an appointment records your response. Choosing Google Calendar or Outlook opens that provider with the appointment details and private join link; another calendar receives a calendar file. Confirm Save/Add in your calendar. Your chosen calendar provider then handles its copy. The app does not read your external calendar’s availability.
How long records remain
New or updated meeting records expire 30 days after the meeting ends. Associated invitation records use the meeting end known when the invitation record is created or updated; separate admin-invitation metadata expires after 30 days. Resolved support records expire 90 days after resolution. Open support records stay until dealt with. Expired records are removed when the running service next accesses or lists them; this is not a promise of deletion at an exact clock time. Older records without an expiry need a separate review.
Google Cloud currently provides a seven-day recovery period for deleted storage objects. Supplier email records and logs have separate rules. Saved emails, calendars, files, recordings and exports are not removed by deleting hosted meeting records. Keep only the copies you need and ask the holder about deletion.
Your choices and requests
You may leave a call, turn off your microphone/camera, stop screen sharing, decline a file, ask to stop a recording and contact Peter about your information. Where UK GDPR applies, rights can include access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, subject to applicable conditions. Requests are assessed individually; deletion is not unconditional. You can also raise concerns with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
The trial uses local browser storage for preferences, imported contacts and reconnection details. No advertising or analytics feature is included in the application code; hosting and security providers may use necessary connection/security technologies. Keep private invitation links to yourself.
